A Sustainable Future for Israel

Imagine a society where the land's resources are managed so that they can fulfill the needs of all its current inhabitants and future generations.

Imagine that communities are vibrant, safe places where the air is breathable, the water drinkable and much of the food is produced within a day's bike-ride.

Imagine people who not only have a stake in the future of the places they live, but are actively involved in creating it – places where people contribute to the decisions that affect their lives and work together to look after their common home.

Imagine that this happens in towns and cities where people are not alienated and separated from one another in an individualistic throw-away world, but instead are invigorated by a shared and diverse culture and community of Jews and Arabs, religious and secular, native-born Israelis and immigrants from around the world.

Imagine that there are people in key positions throughout society working to make this happen.

At the Heschel Center we dare to imagine – but we don't stop there. We imagine how this vision becomes real and we bring together the people who are working to make it so. We are imagining the future – one based on the best of the past and the potential of the present – and we invite you to join us in creating it.
