The Heschel Center for Sustainability is excited to announce that after a long process of screening hundreds of candidates, the board has appointed two co-directors – Rony Erez and Tamara Sharon Ross. Tamara and Rony, two leading members of the Heschel Center, served last year as part of the organizations’ management team and impressed us with their great talent, sensibility and awe-inspiring dedication. We are proud that our organization succeeded in developing leading management from within, a testament to the organization’s inner resilience. The decision to promote women from within the staff is an expression of an internal process of transitioning the Heschel Center as a trust-based organization, another demonstration of our own internal commitment in support of sustainability approach.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Director, Victor Weis. The Heschel Center, the staff, the board of directors, the Heschel Fellows Alumni and many others within the environmental movement cherish the work, dedication and the inspiration that Victor Weis has brought, and we are grateful for his countless contributions to the Heschel Center and the State of Israel. We will continue promoting the initiatives that Victor has championed while striving to develop new initiatives that advance the vision of sustainability in Israel.
